Acclaimed director Gianni Amelio ("Porte Aperte", "Lamerica") recounts the powerful story of a father and his unloved children, set in the heart of Naples.
Lorenzo, a retired once prominent attorney, but a grouchy and unloving father lives alone in his top-floor apartment. One day he meets Michela who has just moved in next door. Quite unlike Lorenzo, Michela is friendly and cheerful. Gradually Lorenzo mellows through his friendship with Michela, her husband and their children, and he becomes attached to them in a way he could never establish with his own children.
Directed by Gianni Amelio, with Elio Germano, Giovanna Mezzogiorno, Micaela Ramazzotti, Greta Scacchi, and Renato Carpentieri
